PayPal opened cryptocurrency trading for UK residents
This is the first expansion of the service to work with digital assets of the payment company. Previously, the organization allowed only U.S. residents to work with crypto-assets
PayPal payment company announced the admission of its British customers to trade and store cryptocurrency. Starting September 17, UK residents can use PayPal's mobile app to work with Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and Litecoin.

This is the first expansion of the payment company's cryptocurrency service. Until now, the payment company has only provided access to digital assets to its U.S. customers.
At the end of August, PayPal announced that it would expand its cryptocurrency service to British citizens. At the time, the payment company said that British users would also gain access to educational content and be able to track rates of digital assets in real time.
In July PayPal increased weekly limit on cryptocurrency purchases for some customers from the U.S. to $100,000. Previously, users could buy digital assets for an amount not exceeding $20,000. In May, the payment company allowed users to withdraw cryptocurrency to third-party wallets.
PayPal customers in the U.S. were able to pay with cryptocurrency back in March of this year. Digital coins are converted into fiat at the time of payment. U.S. users got access to cryptocurrency through PayPal services in November 2020.
